With veganism on the rise and so many people taking part in Veganuary this year I wanted to share the best places to find vegan alternatives to some of Cornwall’s classic foods. Whether you’re dabbling in Veganuary or a fully-fledged vegan there are plenty of great vegan pasties in Cornwall to be had, so you don’t have to miss out!
the cornish vegan pasty company
The Cornish Vegan Pasty Company has developed a range of pasties to rival its non-vegan counterparts. They can be ordered online and are available in Archie Brown’s health food shop in Penzance and Truro, Sprout Health Foods in Newquay and Minions Shop & tea Room near Bodmin Moor.
philp’s famous pasties vegan pasty
Philp’s vegan pasties are a generous size, and the pastry is excellent. They have shops in Hayle, Marazion, Porthleven, Helston, Camborne and Praze-an-Beeble and their pasties can be ordered online through their pasties by post service.
rowe’s bakery vegan Thai pasty
Rowe’s bakery serves a very interesting vegan Thai pasty – a little different to the classic Cornish pasty but full of flavour. The company started out in Falmouth in 1949 and now has twenty-one locations across Cornwall and Devon.

With bakeries around the country, as well as almost every town in Cornwall, Warrens Bakery is perhaps the best-known and most easily available of all our vegan pasty offerings. They also have a larger range than most with three delicious flavours; The Original, the Vegan Mexican Pasty and the Vegan Thai Pasty
ann’s pasties
Ann’s Pasties is a lovely family business making classic Cornish pasties using fresh ingredients and their vegan pasty is no exception. You can order online or head to their Helston or Lizard shops for an over-the-counter experience.
lavenders vegan wholemeal pasty
Lavender’s vegan wholemeal pasties are made using a wholemeal pastry, filled with the freshest locally sourced potato, onion, swede and mixed peppers, a touch of garlic and seasoning. Pick one up from their Penzance bakery and deli or order online.
As with any speciality baked goods, stock levels cannot be guaranteed. If you’re making a trip to sample one, I’d highly recommend giving the bakery a ring first to check if they have vegan pasties in stock.
